About

What We Do

Public Safety Media Strategies

Our team has vast national and international experience in public safety, media, communications, law and security: from advising the president of the United States inside the White House, to a senior role at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; from on-air at CBS News, to chief security officer (CSO) for a national organization; and driving innovative market research at the world's busiest airport.

We provide public safety leaders and their departments, offices and agencies with cutting-edge media strategies, PIO and media training, comprehensive analysis of their communications plans and crisis communications response.

When the media storm hits, the first minutes and hours are crucial. Are you ready?

Leading Through Crisis: Navigating the Media When Every Second Counts

®

Law enforcement in the United States faces a grave new paradigm: unprecedented internal pressures on staffing, training, budgeting and retention along with a litany of external challenges — all while the spotlight burns ever brighter on any missteps.

Whether it's an officer-involved incident, a bridge collapse in Baltimore, attacks on religious institutions, or a spate of fentanyl overdoses, crises will happen and law enforcement leaders must be ready to respond transparently — because every second counts.

This leadership development webinar featured a panel of some of the most distinguished experts on public information in North America, who shared must-have knowledge in:

  • Tips on working with national media

  • News conference preparation

  • Social media monitoring and response

  • Real-time tabletop scenarios

  • In-depth evaluation and formation of a crisis response plan

  • Identification of emerging threats to your communities

The webinar brought together senior law enforcement executives, media trainers, PR leaders and national network journalists to discuss how you can successfully manage the media storm — and strengthen your agency, while protecting the community you serve.

Thank you to our corporate, academic and institutional partners for their support of this leadership development webinar: National Sheriffs' Association, IACLEA, Rutgers Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience, uOttawa Professional Development Institute, Police1, New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, and Public Safety Media Strategies.
